Edward B. Kormann

SALISBURY -- Edward B. "Ned" Kormann died on May 8, 2015, at Wicomico Nursing Home. He was born in Baltimore on Oct. 14, 1922, the son of Ethel Haines Kormann and Edward Louis Kormann. A graduate of Polytechnic High School in Baltimore, he first worked for C&P Telephone Co. before being drafted into the Army in January 1943. He was assigned to the 82nd Air Borne Division as a Paratrooper. When he returned home he was re-hired by C&P Telephone Co. and earned his B.S. degree at Loyola College in Baltimore. He retired from Bell Atlantic in 1985 after 43 years of service. He was a life member of the VFW, a member of the American Legion, as well as an integral part of the Rockawalkin Ruritan. He is survived by his wife of 65 year, Rita Frances Barrow. Other survivors include two sons, Kurt and Eric; and five grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Donald. Services were held May 14, 2015, at St. Francis de Sales Church. Arrangements were in care of Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury.
