Edna E. Everett

PITTSVILLE - Edna Elizabeth "Honey" Everett died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Snow Hill, she was the daughter of the late Elder Clifton Shockley, Sr. and Mildred Duffy Shockley. She was a 1964 graduate of the former Salisbury High School, where she was a scholar athlete. She was formerly employed with the former Powellville Garment Co., and retired in 2015 after more than 10 years from Uniforms Unlimited in Salisbury. She was a faithful member of Friendship U.M. Church in Snow Hill where she served as usher, church secretary and treasurer. She was also a member of the Salisbury High School Alumni Assoc. Her survivors include her husband of 47 years, John Everett, Sr., of Pittsville; one son, John Everett, Jr., of Salisbury; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four siblings, Lola, Clifton, Jr., and Ira Shockley, and Doris Ann Parker; and a host of nieces and nephews. A brother, Robert Shockley, Sr., preceded her in death. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016,at Ebenezer U.M. Church in Snow Hill. Interment was in Friendship U.M. Church Cemetery in Snow Hill. Arrangements are in the care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
