Edgar L. Stephenson Jr.

Stephenson, Jr., 84 FAIRFAX STATION, Va. - Edgar L. Stephenson, Jr., 84, a retired Air Force Colonel of Fairfax Station, Va., died suddenly on March 5, 2016 after a short hospitalization. Col. Stephenson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Sears Stephenson; his son, James E. Stephenson (Karen) of Los Angeles; his grandson, Robert A. Morris of Burke, Va.; his sister, Elizabeth A. Allen of Annapolis, Md. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzanne L. Morris. He was born in Vienna, Md. on September 14, 1931, the son of Edgar L. Stephenson, Sr., and Louise Smith Stephenson. He attended Cambridge Maryland High School and then graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, Md. in 1952, the same year that he joined the Air Force. He retired in 1979 and embarked on a civilian career until retirement in 1998. Ed will be remembered by all as a good man and good friend, who loved his family and enjoyed traveling with his wife. Together they saw much of the world. He lived an exemplary life and will be sorely missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held on March 19, 2016 at l p.m.at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice.
