CAMBRIDGE - Edgar B. Tyler, 99, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Chesapeake Woods Center.

He was born in Chances, on May 16, 1907 and was a son of the late Rev. Edgar S. and Ada Lee Kelly Tyler.

Mr. Tyler attended school in Wicomico County and went on and attended and graduated from King's College in New York in 1949, where he received his bachelor's degree, continued on to Washington College in Chestertown where he enrolled in a degree program and lastly to Wesley Collegiate Institute in Dover where he received his ministerial degree.

On May 15, 1974, he married Madeline Andrews Peters, who passed away on Jan. 21, 1999.

Mr. Tyler owner-operator of his watch and clock repair shop. He resided in Salisbury until 1997 and moved to Cambridge.

He was very active in athletic sports and in fencing.

He is survived by a son, Leon Peters and his wife, Connie of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Peters and his wife, Lori and their children Lauren, Kimberly and Scott, all of Pace, Fla., and Shawn Peters of Cambridge; a niece, Angela Phippin and her husband, Petey of Cambridge; a great-nephew, Christopher Phippin of Cambridge; and nephew, Michael Keene of Cambridge.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Marjorie Phippin and her husband, Paul, and several other family members.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at Dorchester Memorial Park with the Rev. A. Delmer Willey Jr. and Pastor John Merritt officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Eastern Shore Chapter, 209C Milford St., Salisbury, MD 21804.

Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
