SELBYVILLE - Earl Taylor died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Rupert Earl Sr. and Florence Face Taylor.
He was known as the entrepreneur who brought the first McDonald's Restaurants to Salisbury and Berlin. He was the retired and former owner of several McDonald's; he also served in both the U.S. Army and the Merchant Marines.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonnie E. Taylor of Selbyville; three daughters, Debbie Whiteman of Bishopville, Kim Helmey of Darnestown, Md., and Connie Bernal of West Ocean City; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Miller, Lillian Hartley and Bonnie Gracy.
A funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville. Burial was at the Glen Haven Cemetery in Glen Burnie, Md.
