CRISFIELD — The McCready Foundation is pleased to announce the return of Sidney B. Barnes, MD, FACS. He will again be the Chief of Surgery for McCready Memorial Hospital, a position he held from 2004-12. He will begin seeing patients on Jan. 5.

Dr. Barnes received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency from the Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in general surgery, licensed in the states of Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, an American College of Surgeons Fellow, a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and member of several other national and regional associations and organizations.

He also serves as adjunct professor of surgery for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and is a surgical preceptor with the university.

Dr. Barnes most recently was the Attending Surgeon and Medical Director of the Wound Care Center at Atlantic General Hospital. Prior to that, he was Chief of Surgery at McCready. He has also worked at Your Doc’s In Urgent Care Center, Bayhealth Medical Center, and Integrated Health Services, and was a preceptor at Drexel University and Delaware County Community College, and clinical instructor at the University of Pennsylvania and New York University Schools of Medicine.
