Dorothy J. Laws

SALISBURY - Dorothy Jean (House) Laws, 92, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 13, 1922, in Middleport, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Raymond M. House and Mildred S. House. Her beloved husband of 56 years, Jackson F. Laws, died in 2007. Her sister, Marjorie W. Solloway, died in 2000. She is survived by three sons, Jackson W. Laws and Raymond D. Weiss, both of Salisbury, and Robert P. Weiss of Marietta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. After World War II, she worked at Syracuse Airport, where she obtained her pilot's license. In 1952 she married Jackson F. Laws of Salisbury. She was the Executive Director of United Way of Wicomico County until 1972. A funeral service was held at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed in Parsons Cemetery.
