Doris Rosalyn 'Rose' Parks, 81 TANGIER, Va. - Doris Rosalyn "Rose" Parks, 81, wife of the late Edward Vance Parks Sr., and a lifelong resident of Tangier, Va., passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. Born on Sept. 2, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Cranston L. Marshall and Eunice Marie Shores Marshall. Mrs. Parks was a homemaker, and a member of the New Testament Church on Tangier, and the AARP. Survivors include four children, Edward Vance Parks, Jr. and Paulette Parks, both of Tangier, Jane Marie Parks and Sandy Laurel Parks, both of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Heather L. Parks, Eric V. Parks, Hunter Parks and Joy Parks; two great-grandchildren, Hayden V. Parks and Tyler Cole Parks; a special cousin, Yvonne Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Other than her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Marion Marshall; and two brothers, Harry Smith Marshall, and Horace Lee Marshall. Funeral services were conducted at the New Testament Church on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Danny McCready and William Eskridge officiating. Interment followed in the Parks Family Cemetery. There was a visitation at the church on Tuesday evening, June 8, from 7 until 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the New Testament Church, C/O Mr. Danny McCready, P.O. Box 3, Tangier, VA 23440.
