FRUITLAND - Doris Elaine Smith died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury. Born in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late Norman H. and Kathryn I. Tucker Jester. After high school in Georgetown, she worked at DuPont Co. in Seaford. She then moved to Fruitland, where she worked as an accountant at Shoreland Freezers and Raymond Weisner Real Estate. In 1967, she joined the Eastern Shore Oil Co. as an accountant and office manager and worked there for 42 years. She was an honorary member of the Fruitland Ladies Auxiliary and the Degree of Pocahontas. She joined the Modoc Council No. 32 of Salisbury in 1953 and later transferred to Tippecanoe Council No. 100. She was a dual member with Red Feather Council No. 59, Williamsport and Tony Tank Council No. 61, Fruitland. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Harris of Middletown, Del; a son, Dean B. Smith of Delmar; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Jester of Lewes; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John M. Jester, Merrill J. Jester, Gerald W. Jester and George K. Jester. A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
