Dora Lee Hughes

SALISBURY - Dora Lee Hughes died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at her residence. Born in Farmville, Va., she was the daughter of the late William H. Gray and Rosa Belle Young Gray.
She was a member of Victory Faith Worship Center, where she was the church mother and served as an usher. Prior to retiring, she worked at Perdue Farms.
She is survived by four daughters, Virginia A. White, Hattie O. Gattis, Cora R. Brown and Ida M. Hughes; two sons, Robert W. Hughes and John C. Hughes; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, John Wesley Hughes, also preceded her in death.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Victory Faith Worship Center in Fruitland. Interment was in Green Acres Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
