Dinner Sept. 24 benefits stained glass window fund at Immanuel UMC

CRISFIELD — A “Let There be Light” dinner fundraiser featuring ham and crab cakes will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 206 W. Main Street. Sponsored by Circle 1&5, the price is $15 with proceeds benefiting the stained glass window restoration fund.

The stained glass windows are among the grandest in Crisfield, but are approaching their 125-year lifespan and starting to bulge, requiring careful, deliberative and expert attention that is costly. The Lexan protective covers on the outside also have all turned opaque yellow and hide their beauty. This fundraiser is to help raise the nearly $100,000 cost for the restoration and improvements that are required.

The public is welcome to attend this event, or donate directly to the fund. At the dinner there will be a silent auction and baked goods on sale, call Mary Thomas at 410-726-3320 for more information or to reserve tickets.
