Diane H. Murrell

SALISBURY - Diane H. Murrell died Tuesday, Jun. 27, 2017, at Golden Gardens Assisted Living in Parsonsburg. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Blanche Thomas Hillman.
She graduated from Wicomico High School, Class of 1953. During her younger years, she was employed at her father's store, Ernie's Cut Rate. After graduation, she obtained her LPN license and was employed as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Peninsula Regional Hospital Medical Center for 20 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Salisbury, where she was a Sunday school teacher for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Murrell Sr. of Salisbury; three sons, John Murrell Jr. of Princess Anne, Timothy Murrell of Salisbury and Dean Murrell of Parsonsburg; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Delma Tingle of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Tamosaitis.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Jul. 1, 2017, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Burial was in Wicomico Memorial Park.
