SALISBURY - Dennis A. Alessi died Tuesday, Apr. 4, 2017, at his home after a long illness. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Dr. Silvio A. Alessi and Louise G. Alessi. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet E. Alessi. Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1959, he had extensive education including: University of Baltimore, Juris Doctor (Law); University of Maryland, Master of Arts (History) and University of Maryland, Bachelor of Science (Journalism). He also had a degree in Biblical Studies and was very devoted in his Roman Catholic faith. He was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 1975; practiced law for many years in Pennsylvania; was an instructor of Law at York College; part-time instructor of General Law and Commercial Law at Dundalk Community College. He served as Staff Specialist and Program Analyst with the Maryland State Planning Department. He is survived by his children, Dennis Matthew Alessi, Margaret Elizabeth Alessi and Christopher Michael Alessi; three grandchildren; a brother, Ronald G. Alessi, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Stafford Township, N.J., at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
