BALTIMORE - David Shaw Wells, died April 29, 2015. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. B. Sargent Wells Jr. He received his early education at James M. Bennett High School (Class of 1972) and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Asbury Boy Scout Troop 151 where he received the God and Country Award, and also earned the Eagle Scout award. His passion for cooking led to a degree at Florida International University in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He returned home and began working at the Carousel Hotel in Ocean City and later took a cooking position in Texas. There, he met his now former wife, Lillian. He returned to purchase Johnny's & Sammy's restaurant, and opened several other area restaurants, including David's Bistro and Legend's, before moving back to Baltimore. He is survived by his son, David Shaw Wells Jr.; two grandsons; three brothers, B. Sargent Wells III of Baltimore, Douglas Hall Wells of Selbyville and Dr. Duncan Buchanan Wells of Pocomoke City; and a niece and nephew. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015. at 1 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
