Daniel R. 'Dan' Burgoyne, 68 MARION STATION - Daniel Richard Burgoyne died at his home in Marion Station on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020. Born in East Hartford, Conn., his parents were the late Albert Burgoyne and Virginia Scarpello. He grew up in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine and graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a degree in English. After a short time as a high school English teacher, he worked in the construction industry first in Maine, transferring to Maryland to work on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. He continued to work as an iron worker until 2010. He also operated a vineyard in Caroline County and was president for two terms of the Maryland Grape Growers Association. He is survived by his wife, Mindie Burgoyne; his children, Becky Green of Elmer, N.J., Kelley Roduik of Chestertown, Albert Burgoyne of Kingsland, Ga.; Dominic Santi of Columbia, Md., Daniel Santi of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lara English of Westminster, Md.; ten grandchildren; brothers, David Burgoyne and Steven Burgoyne of Carmel, Maine; sisters, Kathy Hermon of Walnut Port, Pa., and Mary Ellen Link of Goshen, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael Burgoyne; and sister, Carolyn Bayliss. The family will hold a memorial service at a later time. Arrangements are in the care of the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
