Daniel Leo Donohue Jr., 51
CAMBRIDGE - Daniel Leo Donohue Jr., a resident of Cambridge, died Friday, March 6, 2009, in Dorchester General Hospital. He was 51. Born on Dec. 10, 1957, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Daniel Leo Donohue Sr. and Dorothy Ann Kable Donohue. Danny was raised in Baltimore and was a graduate of Archbishop Curley High School, class of 1975. He always looked forward to spending summers at the family home on Taylors Island. On May 30, 1981, he married the former Karen Colby. Danny had worked as a salesman for Waverly Press and had been a business analyst for Barton-Cotton of Arbutus. In 1986, he made his permanent home in Taylors Island where he proclaimed his motto "Always at Peace on Punch Island Creek". Danny was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed decoy carving. Surviving besides his wife, Karen Donohue of Cambridge, is his maternal grandmother, Carolyn Hildebrand; three daughters, Meghan Donohue, Kelley Donohue, and Caitlin Donohue; two brothers, Kevin Donohue and his wife Kathy, Timothy Donohue; a sister, Colleen Townsley and her husband Michael; mother-in-law, Nora Lee Colby; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved black labs Brooke and Nyla. Preceding him in death besides his parents was his maternal grandfather, Robert Kable; and paternal grandparents, Leo and Mary Donohue. Services will be held privately.
