Cyrus E. Teter

WILLARDS - Cyrus Emmett Teter Jr., died Wednesday, Mar. 8, 2017, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Worcester County, he was the son of the late Cyrus Emmett Teter, Sr., and Sophia Molner Teter.
He was in the final graduating class of Buckingham High School. Following graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Military Police for 20 years, until he retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1977. After retirement from the military, he worked as a mechanic at Barrett Chevrolet, Good News and Pittsville Motors. He was a member of the American Legion and past member of Showell United Methodist Church and Eden United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Cowart.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cora Nadine Teter; four children, Priscilla Bratten, Christine Wachsmuth, Cindy Cherrix and Cyrus Aaron Teter; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Howard Teter and John E. Teter, Sr.; three sisters, Fay McCabe, Louise Marell and Charlotte Teter; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, Mar. 12, 2017, at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment with Military Honors followed.
