CAMBRIDGE - Curtis Newton Watkins Jr. was born Jan. 10, 1976 in Washingto, DC to Michele Jolley Saunders and Curtis Newton Watkins Sr. and he passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge.

Curtis began his early education at Weire Elementary School for Gifted Students in Philadelphia, Pa. He spent his middle school years at Spring Brook Middle School in Silver Springs and graduated from Cambridge-South Dorchester High School in 1997.

Curtis was baptized at an early age at a church in Fort Meade.

Some of Curtis' enjoyed attending church, mall outings, NBA basketball games, family gatherings, listening to music, and swimming.

He is survived by his mother and father, Michele and Timothy Saunders; four brothers, Michael, Ahmad, Kenny, and Timmy; a sister, Nicole; a niece, Amya Caldwell; a nephew, Kenneth Stephan Bradley Jr; maternal grandmother, Mary Jolley-Burwell; grandmother, Suzanne Jolley; two aunts, Cheryl (Perry) Martin, and Norma Melvin: six uncles, Charles H., McKinley K. (Netta), & William Jolley (Leslie), Jerome (Yvette), Umberto (Christy) and Mark Saunders (Lou); a great-great-aunt, Elsie Hughes; a great-aunt, Ella Mae Jones (Walter); a great-uncle, Donald Jolley and a number of other relatives, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, the Rev. Dr. McKinley K. Jolley Sr., paternal grandmother, Millie Lee Watkins and paternal grandfather, Harper Watkins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at Zion Baptist Church, 600 Cross St., Cambridge with a viewing tonight 6-8 at Henry Funeral Home, PA, 510 Washington St. Burial will be in Bucktown Cemetery.
