Constance "Connie" Hurley Bozman died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Medical in Salisbury.
Born in Cokesbury, she was the sixth of eight children of the late Clinton and Hattie Carter Hurley.
She grew up on a farm, attended schools in Somerset County and graduated from Washington High School.
She played the piano and organ in her community church and she also worked at the corner store.
After high school, she became a dental hygienist and worked in Pocomoke City, as well as in Washington, D.C. She also lived in Indianapolis, before returning to the Eastern Shore in the late 1970s, when she became a bookkeeper at K& L Microwave. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury, and volunteered at Deer's Head Hospital, Coastal Hospice and PRMC.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Howard Bozman; her son, Kevin Bernstein of Salisbury; a daughter, Kara Gaghan of Philadelphia; four grandchildren; her brother, Daniel Hurley of Salisbury; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Brenner; and siblings, Dorothy Bloxom, Patricia Doyle, Richard Hurley, Lee Hurley, Kenneth Hurley and George Hurley.
A service honoring her life is being planned at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
