somosCRISFIELD — The Crisfield non-profit Somos Inc. invites community members interested in good health to a planning meeting noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at the McCready Memorial Hospital meeting room, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield. Topics will include improving access to quality care and services, especially for those geographically isolated or economically vulnerable.

This “Healthy Communities and Healthy People” project is supported by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration. HRSA is looking to link with collaborative partners to build healthy communities and coordinate essential services.

Lunch will be provided, call Shawna Kearsley at 410-968-1508 or email shawna@somosinc.org for more details. Somos was recently a recipient of the federal Local Foods, Local Places grant and established the community gardens and manages Bayside Harvest Market on lower West Main Street. It also introduced the Little Free Libraries.
