Colonel (Retired) Edmund "Ned" Woolfolk, age 65, died peacefully, on September 28, 2024 in St. Augustine, Florida.
Ned is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jill Fuller Woolfolk of Savannah, Georgia, his three children Elizabeth, Ned, and Caroline, his grandchild Katherine, and his brothers, Rich and
David. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Caroline Woolfolk of Cambridge, Maryland.
Ned was born on October 7, 1958 in Cambridge, Maryland. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1976 and attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, which started his 30-year career as an Army Infantry Officer with overseas duty in Germany during the Cold War, Honduras as Commander of Joint Task Force Bravo, and Afghanistan as the Executive Officer to the Theater Commander. He and Jill moved to St Augustine in 2009 to advise the Florida National Guard, which led to 8 more years of service to the Nation and State of Florida. He retired in the Fall of 2018 to enjoy his family and golf with his buddies. He continued to volunteer with the Florida National Guard, K9 for Warriors, and the Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS) Organization.
Colonel (Retired) Woolfolk will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a date yet to be determined. There will be a "celebration of life" gathering at Marsh Creek Country Club on October 13, 2024 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, Ned asked for donations to St Augustine's Big Brothers and Big Sisters Organization of St Johns County.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
