HEBRON - Claude "Grapefruit" William Lemon, 78, of Hebron, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, in Chatsworth, Ga., while visiting his son. Born in Salisbury he was the son of the late Walter Prettyman Lemon and Georgia Alice Parsons Lemon. A U.S. Army veteran, he served at Fort Belvoir and in Greenland for two years and then worked as a truck driver for Marvel Package Co. He married his wife, Betty Jean Smith Lemon, in 1961 and lived almost all his life in the same house. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Jean Smith Lemon; sons, William Victor Lemon of Mardela Springs, Claude Allen Lemon of Chatsworth, Ga., James Edward Lemon of Salisbury and George Franklin Lemon of Hebron; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Marion Ralph Lemon of Hebron and Walter Leroy Lemon of Hebron; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. A funeral service was held Wednesday at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment with military honors was in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Eastern Shore in Hurlock.
