Clara Belle Parks

POCOMOKE CITY - Clara Belle Parks, 88, of Pocomoke City, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born Dec. 4, 1921, in Mt. Vernon, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Chapman Dixon. Mrs. Parks was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City. She was an avid Orioles baseball fan and loved reading. Her husband, Alger Parks, preceded her in death Aug. 24, 1991. She is survived by two sons, D. Gregory Parks and his wife Cathy, of Crisfield and Dr. A. Franklin Parks and his wife Dr. Karen Parks, of Cumberland; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at First Baptist Cemetery, Old Snow Hill Road, Pocomoke City. Friends called from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 145, Pocomoke City, MD 21851, or to Hartley Hall Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 1006 Market Street, Pocomoke City, MD 21851.
