SALISBURY -- Charles Fanos George Sr., 81, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Niles, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fanos George and Rose Borda George. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He owned and operated a Fire Protection Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1999. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, JoAnn Marie Morrall George; five children, Wendy S. Ripa, Carrie Benvenuto, all of Salisbury, Sandra M. Fusee of Mariottsville, Md., Charles F. George Jr. of Fruitland, and Michael S. George-Palmer of Burlington, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Paulik of Warren, Ohio; a brother, Louis George of Marietta, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, William George. A funeral service was held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment followed at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
