CAMBRIDGE - Charles Alexander Streeter passed away suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006.

Charles Alexander was born on July 27, 1945, in Cambridge, to Lucille May Lee Streeter and the late Alexander Williams of Alabama.

In 1948, he lost his birth mother at the age of 3. He was raised by her sister, Rosetta "Ella Mae" Streeter-Richardson and the late Jerry Richardson Sr., David Richardson, Larry Richardson, Connie Richardson-Watts and Joanne Richardson-Freeman.

As a child, he was called "Sonny Boy." When he grew older, he was called "Sonny." Many of his friends called him "Streeter."

He spent his childhood and teen years in Philadelphia, Pa. He attended the Philadelphia Public School System. He went to Gideon Elementary, Roosevelt Middle School and Edison High School.

At 17, he was sent back to Cambridge where he graduated from Mace"s Lane High School.

He was also cared for by Grandmom Janie Streeter Fields, who passed away in 1982, and Uncle Charles Streeter, who passed away in 2006.

Mr. Streeter married Betty Sampson in 1964. From this union two daughters were born.

He was a talented musician. He sang and played the bass-guitar. He and the band members traveled many places and performed for years. In addition to music, Mr. Streeter was a partner in a taxi business with Uncle Charles. From this partnership he became owner of "Streeter"s Taxi."

The last six years of his life, he traveled constantly with friends and family. He is survived by his sons, Tynell Streeter and his wife, Charle" of Baltimore and Charles "CJ" A. Streeter of Cambridge; his mother, Rosetta "Ella Mae" Streeter Richardson; brothers and sisters of Philadelphia, David Richardson, Larry Richardson, Connie Richardson-Watts and Joanne Richardson-Freeman; grandchildren, Tynisha Streeter of Cambridge, Sean Purnell of Cambridge, Jemia Harris of Easton, Darnell Tilghman of Salisbury, Ariel Streeter of Baltimore, Tynell Streeter Jr. of Baltimore, Charenell Streeter of Baltimore, Ryshiem Streeter of Cambridge and Jaimere Streeter of Cambridge; great-grandchildren, A"zaina Perry of Cambridge and Ky"Asia Purnell of Cambridge; an uncle, Samuel Shields Streeter Sr. and an aunt, Lois Jean Streeter of Philadelphia; nieces, nephews, special cousins; a very special friend; and Streeter"s Taxi Employees.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, at Bethel AME Church with the Rev."s Lemuel and Lavone Chester officiating. Burial will follow in Smithville Cemetery.

There will be a viewing Friday 6 to 8 p.m. at church.

Arrangements by Henry Funeral Home, PA in Cambridge.
