SALISBURY - Charleita D. Stanley died Sunday, May 13, 2018, at the home of her godmother, Joyce Wilson, in Salisbury. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Louis Banks Sr. and Diane Harris Banks.
A 1987 graduate of Parkside High School, she matriculated at Salisbury University, receiving a B.S. degree in Social Work. She was employed with the Wicomico County Department of Social Services since 1998 as a Family Service Caseworker for the Adult Services Unit. She was a member of the local union, AFSCME, Maryland Council 3 where she was vice president of the local chapter.
She was an active member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church and an original committee member of the Adopt-A-Block Ministry.
She is survived by her stepmother, Louvenia Banks of Lusby, Md.; a brother, Louis Banks Jr. of Salisbury; two stepsisters and one stepbrother, Kelly Franklin, Ebony Banks and Eric Dashiell; her fiancé, Ivan Taylor of Delmar; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A brother, Maurice Banks, preceded her in death.
A funeral service was held Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Salisbury. Interment was in Parson's Cemetery in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
