CDCC joins Delaware Thunder for ribbon cutting

DOVER – The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Delaware Thunder Professional Hockey Club on Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. The event was held at the Centre Ice Arena on the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington. Chamber members and friends joined CEO/President Charles F. Pens, Sr., and his team to celebrate the relaunching of Central Delaware’s number one sports franchise.

The Delaware Thunder is a professional hockey team that plays at Centre Ice Rink on the Delaware State Fairgrounds. Their mission is to provide family fun sports entertainment on a professional level at an affordable price right here in Central Delaware.

The Delaware Thunder Professional Hockey Club is a proud member of the Central Delaware community. They placed a high priority on engaging with the community and finding ways to give back. The team hosts several specialty nights per season: Cancer Awareness Night, First Responders’ Night, and Military Appreciation Night where a portion of the evening’s proceeds go to benefit the local community. In addition, player are required to make visits to local schools and hospitals to bring goodwill and foster new relationships. Delaware Thunder also supports youth hockey programs as well as fundraising programs for schools, youth organizations, teams, and groups.
