MILLERSVILLE - Carl S. Ward Jr., 75, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born March 26, 1933, in Annapolis, the son of the late Carl L. Ward Sr. and Isabelle Stallings Ward.
A lifelong resident of Millersville, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-55.
Mr. Ward retired after many years as a contractor. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was a member of the Baldwin Memorial UM Church in Millersville. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret E. Ward, whom he married on Jan. 18, 1953; one son, Carl Michael Ward of Taylors Island; and one daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Ward Hanahoe of Millersville; two brothers, Robert D. Ward of Glen Burnie and Jack L. Ward of Port Richey, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Elliott.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Hardesty Funeral Home, PA, 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans" Cemetery in Crownsville.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
