CAMBRIDGE - Brenda Peterson Dukes, 70, formerly of Cambridge, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at her home in Glenwood Forest, Gerrardstown, W.Va. Born July 28, 1940, in Morrison, N.J., she was the daughter of Martin Peterson of Ijamsville, and the late Mildred Jacobus Peterson. Mrs. Dukes was a graduate of North Dorchester High School class of 1958. She was a former employee of Tyler Business System Inc. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas H. Dukes of Gerrardstown; four daughters, Lisa A. Casto and husband Anthony of Hagerstown, Karen L. DeHaven and husband Todd of Glengary, Debbie J. LeMaster and husband Fred of Bunker Hill, and Diane L. Ferguson and husband Ivey of Huntington, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Sara Smith, Amy Casto, Tasha Puffenburger, Andrew DeHaven, Amanda and Rick LeMaster; five great-grandchildren, James, Matthew, Daniel, Emily Smith, and Blake Puffenburger; and a sister, Susan Klecan of Ijamsville. Funeral services were held 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Brown Funeral Homes' South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood with Pastor Don Cherry officiating. Interment was private. Family received friends Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the South Berkeley Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkeley County Humane Society, 554 Charles Town Road, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
