Beverly Byrn Davis Simons
SARASOTA, Fla. - Beverly Byrn Davis Simons died June 13, 2008.
She was born May 17, 1928 to Samuel Lambert and Evelyn Mantz Byrn, in Cambridge, on the family farm "Linden Dairy," which is now adjunct to the Grand Hyatt Chesapeake.
Mrs. Simons attended Cambridge schools, graduated in 1945, then continued on to Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. After Harcum, she was married to Charles N. Davis Sr. until his death in 1968.
During her life, Beverly always enjoyed a busy social life filled with friends and was considered the quintessential hostess. Having had homes in West Virginia, Florida and Maryland, she was always most at home in Cambridge where her family has resided for over 200 years.
She adored nature, being on the water, bridge, golf, boating and travel; was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Christ Episcopal Church, Cambridge Yacht Club and the Cambridge Country Club. In 1996 Beverly was awarded the "Star of Loyalty" for 50 years of work for Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robert E. Simons and sister, Medora (Dodie) Byrn Dashiell of Sarasota, Fla.; her three children; Lea Davis Spear and Charles N. Davis Jr. of Cambridge and Joseph Paul Davis of Palm Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Charles N. Davis III, Cherie Davis Hart and Branden Ashly Spear and her four great-grandchildren: Jerrod and Liam Hart, Calvin and Abigail Beverly Davis.
Burial will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, in her maternal family graveyard beside five generations of her family, parents, and late brother, Samuel L. Byrn III.

The Davis family will host a buffet Luncheon in her honor at the Cambridge Yacht Club open to all, at noon on Wednesday.
