Benjamin Lee Wilson Sr. CAMBRIDGE - Benjamin Lee Wilson Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Talbot Hospice House. Born September 18, 1931, he was the son of the late Samuel and Blanche Wilson. Mr. Wilson attended Robert Russa School, and left school early to help support his family and enlisted in the U.S. Army. After completion of 3 years of service, Mr. Wilson received an honorable discharge. He worked for Albert Marvel Refrigeration and retired after 20 years of service from Wheaton Tubing Co. On Sept. 17, 1955, Mr. Wilson was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Gloria M. Davidson Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a "jack of all trades". Anything you asked him to fix or build, he could do it. Mr. Wilson attended Williamsburg United Methodist Church, and later in years joined Union Baptist Church in 1970 under the direction of Rev. William Revely and Rev. Willie Wilson. In 1972, Mr. Wilson started the Union Baptist Tape Ministry under the general management of George Detrich when the radio station was WEMD. Mr. Wilson was a very soft spoken man that first and foremost loved the Lord and especially his children and grandchildren. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife Gloria M. Wilson; his eldest son, SPF Benjamin L. Wilson, Jr.; a twin brother Ben Wilson; and two sisters, Edith Wilson Curtis and Edna Wilson Thomas. Mr. Wilson is survived by three daughters, Roxine Palmer (Clarence) Bellevue, Md., Margo Wilson (Raleigh, N.C.) and Theodosious Jenkins (Charles) Easton, Md.; two sons, Alfred Wilson (Melissa) and Mattrell Wilson (Tracy) both of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Darnel Pitts (Angela), Lamont Wilson, Benjamin Wilson (Mirae') all of Raleigh N.C., Shicona Dobson (Ernest) Richmond, Va., and Nicole Jones, Paul Jones and Al'kema Jones, all of Easton, Md.; eight great-grandchildren, Kiasha, Amoni and Jeremiah Pitts and Tiras Wilson all of Raleigh, N.C., Kai Dobson(Richmond, VA) and Makhi Taylor, Jurnee Jones and Destiny Strawberry of Easton, Md.; five step grandchildren, Letisha Bailey, Ashley Jackson, Shania Wilson and Ashton Bell, all of Raleigh N.C., and Alkeem Peirce of Berlin, Md.; three sisters, Nellie Sullivan (Easton, Md.), Ida and Vernon Miller (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Blanche Wilson (Bridgeton, N.J.); three brothers, Louis (Sondra Wilson) and Percy Wilson (Vivian) of Philadelphia, Pa., Chaplain Paul Wilson (Mary) Tacoma, Wash.; special niece, Christine Dotson (who was raised with him like a sister); one sister-in-law, Virginia Thomas (William) Metuchen, N.J.; three brothers-in-law, Marvin Cornish (Sharon) Westminster, Md., Charles Davidson (Columbus, Ga.) and Frederick Davidson (Angela) Trappe, Md.; one aunt-in-law, Catherine Hatcher (Killeen, Texas); one uncle-in-law Lafeyette Davidson (Easton, Md.) and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be noon, Saturday, Jan. 23, at Union Baptist Church, 233 Glenwood Ave., Easton, Md. with a viewing two hours prior to the services. Interment Monday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m., Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery Hurlock, Md. Condolences sent to www.henryfuneralhomepa.com.
