Barbara L. McCoy, 84 SALISBURY - Barbara Lee Stevenson Price McCoy died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020. Born in Snow Hill, she was the eldest of 10 children of the late Nathaniel DeShields and Mary Deshields. She graduated from the former Worcester High School in Newark, Md. She was employed in several careers, ranging from a seamstress at the Manhattan Shirt Factory, cook/cafeteria staff at an elementary school in Delmar, driver/deliverer for Meals On Wheels, an upholsterer at Sealy Furniture, as well as operating her own take-out soul food restaurant. She was a member of the New Dimensions Ministry in Salisbury. She is survived by six children, Kendall "Buster" Stevenson, Debra P. Tull, Mary Diana Price, Wayde Preston Price, Johnny Edward Price and Michael Ray Price; her stepson, Sidney McCoy Jr.; two sisters, Martha M. DeShields and Catherine "Kate" Handy; one brother, Albert L. DeShields; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney "Sid" McCoy Sr.; three sisters, Alfonsie Purnell, Mary Copeland and Shirley Harvey; and three brothers, Linwood Stevenson, Nathaniel "Jack" DeShields Jr. and John Harry DeShields. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
