Thompson Hopkins, 85 CAMBRIDGE - Audrey E. Thompson Hopkins, born Orga Elliott June 20, 1928 to the late William Henry 'Buddy' Elliott and Rita Thompson of Cordtown Road died Feb. 17th, 2013 at Signature Health Care, Mallard Bay Care Center Cambridge, Maryland. The late Emma Thompson raised her niece Audrey. She attended schools in Kent, Queen Anne and Dorchester Counties while Aunt Emma worked. Audrey, also, lived with her late uncle Earnest near Centerville, Maryland. Audrey traveled a bit. During the mid 1940's and early 1950's she lived and worked on the western shore (Baltimore, MD and Chester, Pa). Upon return she worked at Elyte and Dorsett laundries, N.E.B. sewing factory and various canneries. She loved a good time -spreading 'cheer' to family and friends. Audrey leaves Anthony 'Cookieman' Waters a longtime partner. She is preceded in death by her late husband Leon O. 'Beanie' Hopkins; brothers, William 'Tunk' Thompson and Leroma 'Rommey' Elliott; two brothers, James Henry Thompson Sr. (Mattie S.) of Cordtown Road and Dudley Elliott (Shirley) Baltimore, Md.; cherish celebrate treasured memories with nieces; nephews; cousins and a host of friends. Services will be held on Friday, Feb 22, 2013, 1 p.m. at Union Chapel AME Church Cordtown with a viewing Thursday Feb. 21, 2013 in the evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Henry Funeral Home PA 510 Washington St Cambridge and one hour prior to service.
