Archie 'Jay' Sutton, 82
CRISFIELD - Archie 'Jay' Sutton, 82, departed this earth on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Salisbury.
Born on August 8, 1925, he was the son of the late Garfield and Merley Sutton.
He was retired from Somerset County Public Schools. He enjoyed his work at Crisfield High School. He loved to talk about politics and religion. Everyone called him Jay.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Della Sutton of Crisfield; his children Patricia White and son-in-law, William White of Pennsylvania, Jakeisha Sutton of Delaware, and Jason Sutton of Crisfield, also Tina Nicholson of Delaware, whom he raised as his daughter; his grandchildren, Christopher White of Pennsylvania, Jayda Sutton of Crisfield, Jason Sutton and Jayla Sutton of Princess Anne, his great-grandson Brandon Reyes of Pennsylvania; his sisters, Lillie Sterling of Lawsonia, Hannah Brown of Crisfield, Bobbie White of Deal Island and Bessie Wilson and brother-in-law Carl Wilson of Dover; sisters-in-law, Vera Sutton of Crisfield, Frances Bishop of Lawsonia, Helen Shelton of Princess Anne and Lisa Bryan of Woodsboro; brothers-in-law, Thomas Bishop of New York, and Joseph Russell Bishop of Marion; mother-in-law Bernice Graham and father-in-law Russell Bishop and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Audrey Perrigan and Jimmie Sutton and brothers, Oliver Sutton, Roland Sutton and Garfield Sutton.
Cremation arrangements were in the care of Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
