DESCRIPTION: The latest round of tariffs rolled out by President Donald Trump’s administration against Canada includes a 50% hike on, among other things, hockey sticks and skates. Because of shifts in production elsewhere around the world, industry leaders do not expect the tariffs to have a substantial effect on the price of sticks and other gear, though for a sport that is notoriously expensive to play, families are feeling the pinch. US OPEN-ALCARAZ
Surprise! Alcaraz learns during ESPN interview he was wrong about his next US Open opponent
SUMMARY: Next up for Carlos Alcaraz at the U.S. Open is ... not who he thought it was. Alcaraz was surprised to learn during an interview on ESPN after his victory Sunday that his quarterfinal match would be against either Ben Shelton or Stefanos Tsitsipas in a match that Shelton later won. The defending champion visited the set after beating Tommy Paul in his fourth-round match. Andy Roddick, the 2003 U.S. Open champion, asked Alcaraz about the challenges either player would present. A confused Alcaraz asked him to repeat the question. When Roddick started to ask about Shelton and Tsitsipas, Alcaraz interrupted to say he thought he was playing Frances Tiafoe or Daniil Medvedev.
