Maybe they’re good: FIFA to analyze use of hydration breaks at future World Cups, Infantino says
SUMMARY: FIFA will consider keeping hydration breaks for future World Cups despite backlash to the extra stoppages in play at this year’s tournament. FIFA president Gianni Infantino has defended the decision to introduce breaks at this World Cup and says they may be providing more entertainment for fans. He tells SNTV that FIFA will analyze what it will do in future tournaments “based on this experience.” But after criticism that the breaks which come midway through each half were a stealth way to insert advertising or American-style timeouts, Infantino suggested the stoppages had been positive.

GLF--ON THE FRINGE-US OPEN
Wyndham Clark showed his toughness as the US Open champion Long Island didn’t want
SUMMARY: Wyndham Clark isn’t the only unpopular U.S. Open champion. The news accounts referred to a hostile gallery and caustic comments the winner had to endure. That’s what was written about Jack Nicklaus in 1962 when he won at Oakmont. The circumstances were different. Nicklaus was a rookie who took down Arnold Palmer in the King’s backyard at Oakmont. The Shinnecock Hills gallery went from being pro-Scottie Scheffler to anti-Wyndham Clark. But he showed his toughness by overcoming it all to win by one. Clark figures if he can just keep showing up he’ll have a chance to win them over.

AP’s NBA mock draft: After top 4, eyes on guards with the Clippers at No. 5 and the Nets at No. 6
SUMMARY: Throughout the lead-up to the NBA draft, the No. 5 spot has been where it becomes difficult to project picks. AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, college player of the year Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson have been locked into the top four spots in each version of the AP’s mock draft. Keaton Wagler of Illinois says he worked out for Chicago, at No. 4, and the Clippers, at No. 5, but canceled a workout with Brooklyn, which picks sixth. So perhaps he knows he’s not falling past No. 5. Mikel Brown Jr. said he met multiple times with the Nets, so their interest is assumed to be real. He moves up in the final version.
