HKW--PWHL-COACHING DIVERSITY

DESCRIPTION: Never one to draw attention to herself, Carla MacLeod nonetheless felt it important to address what the she called the important but complicated topic of being part of the first PWHL’s Walter Cup Final involving two women coaches. The significance, the Ottawa Charge coach said, was obvious in a sport where men hold a majority of the head-coaching jobs. What struck MacLeod as awkward was how in 2026 the issue of equity between genders was still considered newsworthy. By Hockey Writer John Wawrow. 800 words, photos.
