SOC--ENGLISH ROUNDUP
Late VAR call helps Arsenal beat West Ham to stay in control of Premier League title race
SUMMARY: Arsenal has stayed in control of the Premier League title race by beating relegation-threatened West Ham 1-0 thanks to an 83rd-minute goal by Leandro Trossard and a dramatic late VAR call. Arsenal restored its five-point lead over second-place Manchester City and will clinch its first league title since 2004 by winning its final two games, at home to Burnley and away to Crystal Palace. Trossard scored off a shot that took a couple of slight deflections and found the bottom corner. Callum Wilson thought he’d equalized for West Ham following a corner in the fifth minute of stoppage time. After a long delay, the goal was ruled out for a foul on Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.

HKN--HURRICANES ADVANCE
The Carolina Hurricanes are rolling in the NHL playoffs. Next is another lengthy between-rounds rest
SUMMARY: The Carolina Hurricanes are back in the Eastern Conference final for the third time in four seasons. They have plenty of time to rest and recharge before taking on that familiar roadblock. Carolina beat Philadelphia in overtime on Saturday to close out their second-round series in four games. That made Carolina the first team to sweep their first two series since the league went to best-of-seven series in all four rounds in 1987. Carolina will play the Montreal-Buffalo winner. That series is set to go until at least Thursday. Carolina had nearly a week off after sweeping Ottawa in Round 1.
