Marchand scores in 2nd OT, Panthers beat Oilers 5-4 in Game 2 to even the Stanley Cup Final

SUMMARY: Brad Marchand scored on a breakaway in double overtime and the defending champion Florida Panthers punched back against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 2 of their Stanley Cup Final rematch, winning 5-4 to even the series. Marchand’s second goal of the night 8:04 into the second OT allowed Florida to escape with a split after Corey Perry scored to tie it with 17.8 seconds left in the third period and Stuart Skinner pulled for an extra attacker. Each of the first two games have gone to overtime, the first time that has happened in the final since 2014 and just the sixth in NHL history. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 42 shots.

Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. has The Seventy Percent Solution

SUMMARY: Jazz Chisholm Jr. has The Seventy Percent Solution. While most athletes talk about the urge to give 100% or even 110%, the New York Yankees infielder thinks his success since returning from the injured list has been caused by limiting his intensity. Chisholm hit a three-run, go-ahead homer in the first inning and four RBIs to spark the Yankees over the Boston Red Sox 9-6 in the first meeting this year of AL East rivals. He says: “Just go at 70%. That’s what’s been working for me.”

Seattle man charged with string of burglaries at the homes of NFL and MLB stars

SUMMARY: A Seattle man has been charged with a string of burglaries at the homes of prominent current and former football and baseball players, marking the latest example of well-known athletes being targeted in these types of thefts. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office says 21-year-old Earl Henderson Riley IV was charged Friday with several counts of residential burglary in both occupied and unoccupied homes, along with first-degree robbery. It was not immediately clear whether he has a lawyer. Prosecutors say Riley was the ringleader in a series of burglaries that started in February and involved thefts from the homes of such players as Seattle Mariners Luis Castillo and Julio Rodriguez and former Seattle Seahawk Richard Sherman.
