Holiday antiques sale benefits Somerset County Historical Society

Posted

PRINCESS ANNE — Volunteers with the Somerset County Historical Society will welcome shoppers this Saturday, Nov. 4 to the annual Holiday Open House to be held at two locations — Somerset Choice Station Antiques and the Sarah Martin Done House.

Both properties are filled with antiques, collectibles, antiquarian books, architectural salvage, vintage clothing, local ephemera, and vintage holiday décor all available for sale.

Somerset Choice Station is located at 11731 Somerset Avenue. The Sarah Martin Done House is located just a few blocks away at 11724 Mansion Street, behind historic Teackle Mansion.

Open house hours are 10:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

The downtown antiques shop is a former Texaco gas station and garage. The early 1800s house, which was moved in the 1950s from where the post office is today, was owned by the LeBrun family for many years until sold to the Historical Society in 2001.

Both properties are owned and maintained by the Historical Society and proceeds from Saturday’s sale benefits needed repairs to the Done house.

For more information contact Somerset Choice Station at 410-651-2238 or visit its Facebook page. For more information about the Historical Society — and the upcoming Christmas Candlelight Tour on Dec. 2 — visit  www.somersetcountyhistoricalsociety.org.
