Annie Marie Jones

EDEN - Annie Marie Jones, formerly of South Upper Ferry Road in Eden, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Regency Care of Silver Spring, Md. Born in Allen, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Robert W. and Winifred Polk Dennis.
She was a 1941 graduate of the former Frederick Douglas St. Clair High School in Cambridge. She was formerly employed as a seamstress with the former Manhattan Shirt Factory in Salisbury. She was also formerly employed with Arby's (Delmarby) Corp. of Salisbury.
She was a lifelong member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Allen where she served on the Senior Choir, United Methodist Women and the Kitchen Committee.
Her civic involvement included a member of the MAC Center and a founding member of The Thomas Elzey Polk Sr. Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers of Salisbury.
Her survivors include one daughter, Gloria Quick of Gaithersburg, Md.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Douglas L. Jones, died in 1982. Eleven siblings preceded her in death.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Friendship U.M. Church in Allen. Interment was at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
Arrangements are in the care of Jolley Memorial Chapel of Salisbury.
