CAMBRIDGE - Annie B. Reese, of Cambridge, departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Mallard Bay Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 3, 1913, daughter of the late Emma and Joseph B. Chester. Annie was educated in the Dorchester County Public Schools. She worked at Phillip Packing Company for many years. She later married the late Robert Reese and they were blessed with a son. Annie accepted Christ at an early age. She was a life time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Harrisville, now known as New Revived United Methodist Church, Smithville, under the current leadership of Rev. Jerome Tilghman. She was a member of the Harrisville Singing and Praying Band, Sunday School and the Christian Ladies Aid Society. Annie is survived by two sisters, Evangelist Agnes Cooper, Missionary Alice Wongus; a brother, Deacon Joseph B Chester III, all of Cambridge; several nieces, Deaconess Elise Stanley of Church Creek, Berdina Ross of Cambridge, Linda Holden of Dover, Del., Barbara Johnson of Spring Dale, Maryann Ennels of Baltimore, Debora Cooper of Harrisville, Clementine Dickerson of Cambridge, and Ramona Ray of Atlanta, Ga.; several nephews, James Cooper of Cambridge, Arviel Dunnock of Baltimore, Gary Cooper of Baltimore, Kevin Robinson of Cambridge, William Chester II of Harrisville, and Cleon Dunnock of Hurlock; nine great-nieces; twelve great-nephews; and a host of great- great-nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death, by her son, Emory Chester; and siblings, Asbury Chester, William Chester I, Bessie Chester, Rosa Woolford, Nellie Dunnock, Mary Suzzie Chester, Ella Mae Haggins and Evangelist Catherine Saunders. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. in St. Paul UM Church Harrisville. Condolences may be sent to www.henryfuneralhomepa.com.
