Alva M. Mills

CROCHERON - Alva M. Mills, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Toddville on Oct. 31, 1930 and was a daughter of the late Malcom and Maysie Todd Jones. Mrs. Mills attended schools in Dorchester County. On Aug. 11, 1982, she married Robert Gibby Mills, who passed away on March 31, 1983. Mrs. Mills was a crab picker for several crab houses. She is survived by several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Mills is preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar Jones and Allan Jones; and two sisters, Delores Todd and Eula Pritchett; and a special nephew who was raised like a son, Jimmy Todd. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
