FEDERALSBURG - Alice Hastings Hubbert, 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in Easton with her family at her side.
Born in Atlanta area of Bridgeville, Del., on April 16, 1912, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Eleanor Hastings.
She graduated from Bridgeville High School. Mrs. Hubbert was a farm wife and provided care for many ill family members for several years. She enjoyed doing several types of needlework and writing poetry, which played a large part in her lifle.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Federalsburg and served on several church committees including the Elizabeth Miller Circle.
Mrs. Hubbert is survived by one son, James F. Hubbert Sr. and his wife, Nancy; one grandson, James F. Hubbert Jr. and his wife, Jennifer; and one great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Rose Hubbert, all of Federalsburg. She is also survived by a brother, John R. Hastings of Bridgeville, Del. and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hubbert was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Myers Hubbert, who passed away May 15, 1986; one son, Wayne Lewis Hubbert who passed away May 26, 1994, and by four sisters, Gertrude Hastings, Nettie Hastings, Ethel Nichols and Nellie Williams.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg, with the Rev. Dale Evans and the Rev. Dan Walker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, c/o James Hubbert, 315 Maple Ave., Federalsburg, MD 21632.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Williamson Funeral Home in Federalsburg.
