TODDVILLE - Albert Gibby Robinson Sr., 81, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007.
He was born at Toddville on March 15, 1926 and was a son of the late Romie and Hattie Robbins Robinson.
Mr. Robinson attended schools at Toddville. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and served in England, France and Belgium.
On Dec. 23, 1943, he was married to the former Emma Louella Reynolds. Mrs. Robinson passed away on July 4, 2001.
Mr. Robinson worked on the water until he was 32 and then worked with the Department of Natural Resources for 28 years until he retired in 1985.
Mr. Robinson was a member of the Natural Resource Police Alumni Association, M.C.E.A., Cambridge Lodge No. 66 A.F. & A.M., Chesapeake Forest 115 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Scottish Rite, Boumi Shriners, Eastern Shore Shrine Club, Dorchester Post 91 American Legion and Choptank Memorial Post 7460, VFW. He enjoyed gardening hunting and fishing. He had been in failing health for the past two months and had been a patient at the Dorchester General Hospital since Tuesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Sylvia B. Muscarella and her husband, Larry Muscarella of Stevensville, Crystal R. Brannock and her husband, Glenn Brannock of East New Market and one son, Gibby Robinson and his wife, Jane W. Robinson of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Jamie L. Burt of Baltimore, Jennifer Brannock of East New Market, Dania Moxey and her husband, Jason Moxey of East New Market, Gibby Robinson III and his wife, Ashley Robinson of Cambridge and Ryan Robinson and his fiancée, Jessica Hurst of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Matthew Moxey and Jeremy Moxey and many nieces and nephews.
In addition his wife, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Irene Bradford, Nina Robinson, Lillian Robinson, Jane Henry, Lottie Jones Meredith and three brothers, Clyde Robinson, Joseph Robinson and Rodney Robinson.
Members of Cambridge Lodge No. 66 A.F. & A.M. will conduct a Masonic Memorial Service on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge. A funeral service will follow with the Rev. Fred Bahr officiating. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans" Cemetery. Friends may call two hours before the funeral on Wednesday.
