HART, Mich. - Albert F. Schuchardt, age 81, died on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, Mich. Albert was born on Feb. 10, 1928, and raised in Madison, Wis., the son of Carl R. and Florence (Meyer) Schuchardt. He attended St. James Grade School, West High and graduated from the University of Wisconsin. On Aug. 4, 1956, he was united in marriage to Eileen Rose Elliott in Coleman, Wis. Al served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by Country Gardens in Colman, Wis., and on April 1, 1957, he joined the Chun King Corporation in Duluth, Minn. He was transferred to various locations including Duluth, Minn., Jackson, Ohio, Summit, N.J., and Cambridge, Md. While at Cambridge he became President of the corporation. The family remained in Cambridge for thirty years before retiring to Hart, Mich., in June 2005. Survivors include his wife, Eileen; his three children, Carl Douglas (Brenda), Elliott James and David Albert (Marjorie). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Carl Douglas Jr., Emily Elizabeth, Christopher William, Jason Aaron, Geoffrey Ian, Leslie Anne, Benjamin Douglas and Elizabeth Rose; his siblings, Emmett Schuchardt, Isabelle Dressel and Betty Schuchardt and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul and Carl Schuchardt; two sisters, Florence Huffer and Phyllis Schuchardt. A visitation was held on Monday, May 11, from 5-7 p.m. at the Joyce Ryan Funeral home, 5701 Odana Road in Madison, Wis., and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday May 12, at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, with Msgr. Tom Baxter officiating. Burial took place in Resurrection Cemetery in Madison, Wis.
