SALISBURY - Alan W. Dykes, 73, of Salisbury, died on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake after battling a long illness. He was born on June 6, 1942, to the late Arthur E. Dykes and Margaret T. Dykes. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Dykes; four children, Lori Neske, Terresa Souder, Greg Dykes and Shawn Dykes; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Ernest Dykes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Pedwell. A baptized Jehovah's Witness for 63 years, he was a member of Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. Having started his business Mail Movers in 1977, he enjoyed 38 years of working with the business community developing many close business relationships. He graduated from Wicomico Senior High School in 1960. A memorial was held at on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
