CAMBRIDGE - Addie L. White, passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, in the Dorchester General Hospital. She was 81. She was born at Madison on Oct. 1, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Ira D. and Louise Bromwell Sanders. She attended schools at Madison and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1945. On March 12, 1954 she was married to Edward J. White. Some years ago she had worked for the Phillips Packing Co. in Cambridge, as well as Bambrick's Pharmacy and Clayton's Seafood. Most recently she had worked for the Farmers Home Administration as a Secretary. Mrs. White was a member of the Madison United Methodist Church, and had been an animal lover. She had been a patient at Dorchester General Hospital since last Friday, where she passed away early Monday morning. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene North, Caroline Howard and Mary Sanders. Survivors include her husband, Edward J. White, of Cambridge; one son, Edward J. White Jr., of Madison; one sister, Martha Evans, of Cambridge; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday morning at Old Trinity Churchyard with the Rev. Samuel H. McWilliams officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. White's name to the Humane Society of Dorchester Co., P.O. Box 132, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
