Members of the Maryland chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., meet their Choptank Elementary School pen pals at the Hyatt.
Members of the Maryland chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., who have adopted the Choptank Elementary School in their Adopt a School program, met with 16, 4th and 5th grade students who have been their pen pals this year. The Choptank students write their pen pals once a month, and their get-together at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay this past Saturday was the first time the students met their sorority pen pals. The group enjoyed activities designed to inspire the mind, body, spirit and soul, and listened to guest speaker Jodi Cavanaugh Jews. They were also prone to breaking out into enthusiastic group song occasionally! Choptank School’s Kawana Webb and her intern Amanda VanCleemput organized the event, which was a first-time visit to the Hyatt for the majority of the students.
