Willie F. Pruitt

TANGIER, VA. - Mr. Willie F. "Bill Frank" Pruitt, Jr., husband of Eva Marie Pruitt and a resident of Tangier, Va., passed away on Tangier Island, Monday, Nov. 5, 2012. Born March 30, 1932 on Tangier, he was a son of the late Willie Frank Pruitt, Sr. and Mamie Earl Crockett Pruitt. Bill Frank was a retired waterman, and a faithful and devoted member of the New Testament Church, where he served as an Elder. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Leah Pruitt (and her husband Bobby); and a brother, Asbury Pruitt. In addition to his wife, survivors include two children, Sherry Pruitt and fiancé Ralph Wade of Fruitland, Md., and Steve Pruitt and wife Nina of Tangier; a sister-in-law, Marie Pruitt of Crisfield, formerly of Tangier; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the New Testament Church on Tangier, Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at 2 p.m. with Elders Duane Crockett and Danny McCready officiating. Interment followed in the New Testament Church Cemetery. There was a visitation at the church on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, from 7 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Testament Church Missions, C/O Faith Charnock, P.O. Box 266, Tangier, VA 23440. Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements by the Williams Funeral Homes, Parksley and Onancock.
